Singing Together 1 - songbook/ MP3/ CD

The songs in this book and MP3/ CD can be enjoyed by any baby or child, but are particularly helpful in supporting the earliest learning and development stages, starting from birth.  Sharing music, songs and rhymes together will help to develop their communication skills, because it provides an opportunity to listen, watch and interact with you. Don't worry what kind of singing voice you have - your baby or child won't mind! 

Here's a video clip of the Hello song being sung at the beginning of a Peep group, to welcome everyone to the session - children, parents, carers and practitioners.

Clapping games and finger rhymes are great for children's hand-eye coordination, and strengthening their hand and finger muscles and control - as well as being fun to join in together. Here are a few examples from Singing Together:

 > Ready and...             > Tommy Thumb          > 1 2 3 4 5 (fish alive)             

 > Open shut them        > Peep-o                    ​

> Bicycle song (baby/ toddler lying on their back, with you pedalling their legs until you 'stop!' - as your child gets to know the song, you'll see they start to anticipate the 'Go!' when you start pedalling again)
